Creator of Becoming California and co-founder of the California Environmental Legacy Project, Jim Baxter has long been an outdoor enthusiast and advocate for our natural environment.
A professor of biology at Sacramento State University, he has over 20 years of experience as a scientist and educator, with expertise in biological diversity, human impacts on ecological systems, and the role of educational media on environmental understanding. He has a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an M.A. in Ecology and Systematic Biology from San Francisco State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution from Rutgers University.
