Regional Films

Bringing global issues home

lylell Fork - The Legacy ProjectThe Legacy Project’s regional films tell powerful stories of environmental change across California.  Narrated by Jane Fonda and with original music by Pat Metheny, the regional films are intended to enhance public understanding of the environments that actually shape people’s lives.

Intended to complement the Becoming California documentary, these films are currently showing in visitor centers at Lassen Volcanic National Park, Coast Redwoods National and State parks, Point Reyes National Seashore, Los Angeles Basin/Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

Nature Theatre - The Legacy ProjectThe Legacy Project’s regional films are reaching over 400,000 California park visitors of all ages and backgrounds each year.  This fall 2016, these amazing films will become available to educators for streaming on the Legacy Project website.  So keep an eye out for that!

In its production of these films the Legacy Project has brought professional development opportunities to teachers, scientists and digital media producers through collaborative partnerships at each of our park locations.  Our standard is to create high quality media that are entertaining and inspiring while at the same time scientifically current and accurate.
